dc.description.abstract "The Traveller" is dedicated to the author's brother, the Rev. Henry Goldsmith. "True beauty" is included in editions of Goldsmith's works under title: The double transformation. "The adventures of Tom Dreadnought" is Goldsmith's Essay no. 24. Issued with: Montagu, Lady Mary Wortley. The poetical works of the Right Honourable Lady Mary Wortley Montague ... London [i.e. Philadelphia?], 1769. Also issued separately? This title was advertised in the Pennsylvania chronicle, July 11-18, 1768, as "lately published and to be sold by R. Bell." Another edition, with identical imprint, has the words "True beauty, a matriomonial tale; likewise the" in a single line on the title page, and gathering B is inserted after leaf A3. In the present edition "Likewise," appears in a separate line on the title page, and gathering B follows leaf A6.
