In three parts, each with caption title and separate signatures. "Seuen poyntes of trewe loue and euerlastynge wysdom" (first part) is extracted from: Suso, Heinrich. Horologium sapientiae; "The xij. profittes of tribulacyon" (second part) trans. from Peter Blois; "A compendious abstracte .. out of the holy rule of saynte Benet" (third part) is abstracted from: Benedict, Saint, Abbot of Monte Cassino. Regula--Cf. STC (2nd ed.) 3305 and 20412. Formerly also STC 13827. Signatures: A-M8 A-D8 aa-bb8 cc4. Imperfect: British Library copy has part 2 only; Cambridge University Library has part 2 only, which lacks A8; Durham Cathedral Library copy lacks all before signature K and parts of ² D; John Rylands University Library of Manchester copy is torn, tightly bound, and stained, affecting legibility; bracketed words in title supplied from STC (2nd ed.). Reproductions of the originals in the British Library (reel I-4:5), the Cambridge University Library (reel 1:6), the Durham Cathedral Library (reel 1656:5), and the John Rylands University Library of Manchester(reel 1788:15).
