Dated: Given under Our Signet at Edinburgh, the second day of August, 1677, and of Our Reigne, the twenty ninth year. Signed: Al. Gibson, Cls. Sti. Concilii. Landlords and masters are to ensure that their tenants and servants attend public worship and remain in the Protestant faith. Text of oath to that effect at foot of page. Imperfect: tightly bound with slight loss of text. Reproduction of the original in the National Library of Scotland.
