dc.description.abstract | Dedication signed: Nath. Bacon. With an additional title page (A1r), engraved, "Semper eadem or the uniforme government of England", signed: W.M. sculp:, i.e. William Marshall. Includes index. In the 1647 edition, the printer's name and address is printed on two lines. The secret 1672 edition has the printer's information printed on one line. The 1647 edition exists in two states: 1) "Printed for Mathew Walbanke at Grayes-Inne-Gate"; 2) "Printed for Mathew Walbancke at Grayes-Inne-Gate". Wing mistakenly identifies the state with imprint word "Walbanke" as the 1672 secret reprint. Cf. Wing (2nd ed., 1994) B349. Copy at reel 2988:20 is an improved copy over that state with the printer's name and address on two lines which is on reel 51 identified as B349. Reproduction of original in the Newberry Library (reel 2301:10) and Queen's College (University of Oxford). Library (reel 2988:20). |
