A DECLARATION Of the LORDS and COMMONS Assembled in Parliament: Concerning a late difference betweene some Officers of the English, and some of the Scottish Nation, for the preservation of the Peace, and mutuall Amity betweene both Kingdome [...], against the seditious speeches of some ill affected Persons who seeke to raise it to a Nationall Quarrell.
Also an Ordinance of both Houses, nominating and authorizing diverse persons in severall Counties, to bee added to the Committes for the weekely Assessement.
ORdered by the Lords and Commons Assembled in Parliament, that this Declaration and Ordinance shall bee forth with Printed and published.

A DECLARATION Of the LORDS and COMMONS Assembled in PARLIAMENT.
THe Lords and Commons taking notice of a difference between some Officers of the English and some of the Scottish Nation which is now under Examination; And being informed that some ill-affected Persons have given out seditious speeches, to heighten it to a Nationall quarrell, & at this time (when [Page] there is most need of Vniting the hearts and affections of the people of both Kingdomes, joyntly to defend and maintaine, the common cause of their Religion▪ and Liberties) to make a division and distraction between them, thereby to weaken and disable both, & expose them and the cause to manifest Ruine & destruction, The Lords and Commons have thought fit, hereby to declare their exceeding dislike of so mischievous a practise, and to professe unto the world their desire and care to preserve love, and a good agreement betweene the two Kingdomes in generall, and the Subjects of either in particular; And doe further declare their resolution to be, to looke with an equall Eye of affection, and esteeme, upon such Officers and Souldiers of both Nations, as put themselves into the [Page] Service of the King & Parliament, and to make no difference betweene them, other then as any of them shall more or lesse deserve, by their paines and indeavours to advance the publike Service; And therefore they streightly charge and injoyne all persons, as well of the one as the other Nation, to forbeare all provocations of each other, and to continue in mutuall love and friendship, without Resentment of any thing past to the disturbance of that peace and quiet which both Houses of Parliament so much desire to preserve, to this they expect all due Obedience, and will severely punish those that shall offend, as Incendiaries and troublers of the peace betweene the two Kingdomes.
WHereas in the Ordinance of both Houses for the raising of a weekely contribution, for the maintenance of the Army raised by the Parliament, the Names of diverse persons were omitted to be Committees, for the Counties of Hertford, Kent, Norfolke, Somerset, Suffolke, Bedford, Surrey, Sussex, Dorset,
Be it ordeined that Sir Iohn Garret, Baronet, Sir John Read, Baronet, Gravely Norton Esquire, Doctor John King Doctor in Physick shall bee added to the said Committees, named for the said County of Hertford, and Sir Robert Honiwood, and Sir Peter Godfery Knights, Richard Browne, Robert Scot, William James, and Mark Dixwell Esquires, shall bee added to the said Committees, Named for the said County of Kent, and Sir Edward Barkham, Baronet, added to the Committees Named for the County of Norfolke; Hugh Rogers, John Ash, John Pyne, Clement Walker, and Robert Blagh Esquires, shall be added to the Committees named for the said County of Somerset, and Sir Edmund Bacon K and Baronet, Sir Butts Bacon, Baronet, [Page] Sir Robert Btooke, Sir William Soames, Sir Edward Duke Knights, Brampton Gurdon, Wiseman Bokenham, Jsaac Apleton, Henry North Iunior, Robert Reynolds, Esquires, Thomas Cole, Richard Pepys, N [...] thanael Bacon de Joswich, John Clinch Senior, John Clinch of Culphore, Nicholas Rivet of Dringsstone, Gibson Lucas Esquires, the Alderman of Bury St. Edmunds, and Tho. Chapman Esquire, shall be added to th [...] Committees for Suffolke; Thomas Johnso [...] of Alborough, Gent. and Sir Thomas Alston, Knight and Baronet, Sir Roger Burgoyn, Knight, Thomas Rolt, Humphrey Monox, William Duncombe, John Vaux, Humphry Fishe, John Neale, Oliver Boteler, Esquires, shall bee added to the Committees for the County of Bedford, and for the Town of Bedford, the Maior for the time being, and Doctor Banister, Doctor in Physick, and Sir Tho. Grimes, Sir Joh. Gresham, Sir John Lenthall, Sir John Maynard, Knights, Charles Hoskins, Edward Bish senior, Edward Bish junior, Edward Bagshaw, John White, Robert Goodwyn, John Turner, Edmund Sanders, Hermon Atwood, Esquires, shalbe added to the Committees named for the County of Surrey; and Richard Rose, Thomas Ceely, John Henley, William Sydenham Iunior, Esquires, shall be added to the Committees named [Page] for the County of Dorset; and Sir John Chapman Knight, Thomas Middleton, Arthur Fowte, Lawrence Ashburncham, Peter Farnden, John Basbridge, Stephen Humphty, Tho. Which Persons herein named shall bee Committees for the severall Counties aforesaid, and shall have the same power and authority in the respective Counties for which they are nominated, as the other Committees therein named are thereby to have.
