HIS Majesty pittying the distressed Condi­tion of many sicke and maymed Souldiers, sent from His Army to this City for their cure, doth earnestly recommend them to the Charity and bounty of his well-affected and good Subjects, to contribute for the present to their necessi­ties, and to that purpose doth require the Preachers and Mi­nisters in every Chappell of the Colledges and Halls in this Vniversity, and in every Church in this City, on the Sun­day or Lords day now next comming, in the full Congrega­tion at morning Prayer, To publish this His Majesties Plea­sure, with an Exhortation to stirre up their devotions to so pious and charitable a worke. And His Majesty doth Com­mand, That the Maisters or Governors of every Colledge & Hall, doe appoint some fit Persons of the same Houses to attend the Collection; and the Church-wardens and Over­seers of the poor of every Parish to attend the collection in every Church; and on the Munday following, those Colle­ctors are required to deliver a note in writing under their se­verall hands of the true summe collected in every severall Church and Chappell, and therewith to pay over the Mo­ney to Mr Leonard Bowman, who is appointed the Treasu­rer for that purpose, and to dispose thereof for the reliefe of the said poor Souldiers. And His Majesty himselfe is resol­ved, with all the speed He can, to take care for these and all other Souldiers who shall suffer in His Service.
