ACT of Privy Council, Anent the Punishment of these who refuse to Serve in the Foot-Militia.

THe Lords of His Majesties Privy Council being informed, that some persons who are pitched upon by the Leaders and Out-reikers of the Foot-Militia, refuse the said Service, upon the ordinary and accustomed Pay; Do hereby Require [...]nd Authorize, the Justices of Peace, Commissioners of Assesment, or the Militia, to Seize upon any person so Refusing, and to Imprison them in the next convenient Prison, and to Fine them in the Sum of Twenty pounds Scots, and to inflict upon them such Corporal Punish­ments as they shall think fit, by Whipping or otherways. For doing whereof, these Presents shall be their Warrant. Extracted forth of the Records of Privy Council by me
