The noble Earle of Wonmorth caused a value of shot to be made against them, which the rebels answered againe most furiously; then the two Lords marched about with their Army, striving for the wind which at last they obtained, and for the space of two days and one night they fought most furiously one against th'other, not ceasing all this while to take breath, the conquering sword hanging over their heads, not knowing to which side the victory would fall too, till that noble and valiant souldier Captain Kembe, came with his f rces which were 1000. foot and 200. ho se, who played against them with such courage, that he crused them to retire back then t [...]e Lord Baltamore caused his Ordnances to be planted against them, who killed them so fast. with Chain-shot, t [...]at in the space of three hours were sl [...]ine on the rebels 2000. and three great Commanders taken p [...]isoners, in all were slaine of the rebels 6000, of the protestants foureteene hundred.

The Earle of Wormoth hath also took again the Castle which belonged to Captaine Hall, which the rebels took Decemb. 1. 1641.

Then the protestant Army marched backe to the province of Manster, where they expect another battell daily.

They have also won a great part of the County of Connoham, which the Rebels tooke at the [Page]beginning of their rebellion, then the protestant party marched towards the Covnty of Corke, and tooke the great Castle called Irelands Succour 'and killed of the rebels 200, and took great store of Ammunition from them, that came from Sptine two dayes before, and now at this present, they hath entrouched themselves about it, expecting every day the comming of the rebels to assault them.
