TO do good and to distribute forget not, for with such Sacrifices God is well-pleas'd, Heb. 13.16. Cast thy Bread upon the waters: for thou shalt finde it after ma­ny dayes. Give a portion to Seven, and also to Eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the Earth, Eccl. 1.2. If there be among you a Poor man, of one of thy Brethren, within any of thy Gates, thou shalt not harden thy heart, nor shut thine hand from thy Poor Brother. But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy GOD shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thy hand unto, Deut. 15.7, 8. And if thou draw out thy Soule to the hungry, and satisfie the afflicted Soule, then the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfie thy Soule in Drought, and make fat thy Bones: and thou shalt be like a watered Gar­den, and like a Spring of water, whose waters faile not, Isa. 58.10, 11. Ho­nour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine encrease. So shall thy Barnes be fil­led with plenty, and thy Presses shall burst out with new Wine, Pro. 3.9, 10. He that hath pity upon the Poor, lendeth unto the LORD, and that which he hath given, will he pay him again, Pro. 19.17. He which soweth sparingly, shal reap sparingly: And he which soweth bountifully, shall reap bountifully. Every man accor­ding as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudging­ly, or of necessity, for God loveth a chearful Giver, 2 Cor. 9.6, 7.

LEt your Light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorifie your Father, which is in Heaven, Mat. 5.16. And as ye would that men should do to you, do you al­so to them likewise, Luke 6.31. Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken toge­ther, and running over, shall men give into your bosome, Luke 6.38. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, wil­ling to communicate, laying up in store for themselves a good foundati­on against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life, 1 Tim. 6.18. There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth, and there is that with­holdeth more then is meet, but it tendeth to Poverty. The liberal Soul shall be made fat: And he that watereth shall be watered also himself, Prov. 11.24, 25. Make to your selves friends of the Mammon of unrighteousnesse, that when ye faile, they may receive you into everlasting habitations, Luke 16.9. Sell that ye have, and give Almes, provide your selves Baggs which wax not old, a treasure in the Heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth cor­rupteth, Luke 12.33. As it is writ­ten, He hath dispersed abroad: he hath given to the Poor, his Righteous­nesse remaineth for ever: his Horn shall be exalted with Honour, 2 Cor. 9.9. For God is not unrighteous to forget your Work and Labour of Love, which ye have shewed toward his Name, in that ye have ministred to the Saints, and do mi­nister, Heb. 6.10. Ye shall be recompenced at the Resurre­ction of the Just, Luke 14.14.
