A PROCLAMATION.
WHereas upon Information We have received against Charles Earl of Macclesfeild, We have thought fit to Direct Our Warrant for Apprehending the said Earl for High Treason, who is since fled from Iustice, and does now lie concealed; We do by this Our Royal Proclamation Strictly Charge and Command all Our Loving Subjects forthwith to Apprehend the said Earl for High Treason, and that no Person do presume to Receive or Harbour the said Earl upon Pain of being Proceeded against for High Treason, according to the utmost Severity of the Law.
Given at Our Court at Windsor the Seventh day of September 1685. In the First Year of Our Reign.
