To the chiefe Constables and Bayliffe of the Hundred or De­uision of [...] in our Countie of [...] and to euery of them, Greeting:

We will and commaund you, that you warne, and cause to come, xxiiij, honest and discreet men of your said Hundred or Deuision, before the Clerke of the market of Our houshold, and throughout our Realme of England, or his lawfull Deputie, in and through our sayd Countie of [...] and euery part thereof, aswell within Liberties as without, to appeare at [...] vpon [...] being the [...] day of [...] next by eight of the clocke in the fore­noone of the same day: Then and there to heare and doe vpon their seuerall Oathes, as they and euery of them shall bee for vs, and on our behalfes required, according to the Lawes and Statutes of Our Realme: And moreouer that you send your Precepts according to the Tenor hereof, to all your pettie Constables or Tythingmen of eue­ry Parish and Ham [...]et, within your sayd Hundred or Deuision, thereby comman­ding them, that they specially warne all Millers, Bakers, Brewers, Inholders, Vinte­ners, Mercers, Grocers, Drapers, Alehouse-keepers, Butchers, Chandlers, Smithes, Weauers, Farmers, Malsters, Taylors, Glouers, Cloathiers, Cloathworkers, Fullers, and generally all Artificers, Tradesmen or any other person or persons whatsoeuer, within their Constablery or Tything, that vseth or hath any Waight or Measures whatsoeuer, sealed or not sealed, to appeare with all their Waights & Measures the day and place aforesayd, to see them duely examined by our Standerds: And then the Bakers and Victuallers bread of all sorts to bee shewed for the perfect intelligence of the true assise therof, and that the said Constables or Tythingmen do bring thither and present to our sayd Clerke of the Market or his deputie faire written, and fixed to your Precept, as the returne thereof a true Note of the names of the Parish or Hamlet whereof they are officers: and the manner of the Parish whereof the Hamlet is a part, with the true names and surnames, and their Additions of all the persons ap­pointed to be summoned by them, as aforesayd, and withall a Note of all the Weights and Measures, Beames and Ballances, which euery or any man vseth or hath: And your selfe or selues, to bee then and there present and attendant, and to make a due returne of this Our commaund and Precept: Indorsing thereupon the true names of all the Parishes and Hamlets, whereof you haue summoned the officers to appeare, as you will answere the contrary at your perill:

BY vertue of a Precept in his Maiesties name to me directed, These are to charge and command you, that you warne two of the most sufficient men within your Constablery or Tything, neither of them being a tradesman, if conueniently you may, to appeare before the Clerke of the Market of his Maiesties most honourable houshould, or his Lawfull Deputie, at [...] within this Countie of [...] on [...] the [...] day of [...] next comming by eight of the clocke in the forenoone of the same day, to serue the kings Maiestie vpon a Iury for that seruice: And that you specially warne all Bakers, Brewers, Inholders, Vintners, Alehouse-keepers, Victuallers, Butchers, Chandlers, Grossers, Mercers, Cloathiers, Cloathworkers, Fullers, Weauers, Taylors, Smithes, Glouers, Witetawyers, Millers, Maulsters, Corne-masters, Farmers, and generally all Artificers, Trades­men, and all other persons whatsoeuer within your Constablery or Tything, that haue or vse any Weight or Measure, to a appeare before the sayd Clerke of the Market, at the time and place aforesaid, bringing or causing to bee brought thither at the same time, all such Weights and Measures, as they or any of them vse or haue, either sealed or vnsealed, to haue them dulie exa­mined with his Maiesties, Standerds: And that you bring with you faire written, all the true names and surnames with the seuerall faculties or additions of euery person so summoned, or to bee summoned by you, to appeare as aforesaid, together with a true Note of all the Weights and Measures, Beames and Ballances, that euery such person hath or vseth, with the true manner of the Parish or Hamlet whereof you are officer. And further that you repaire to all the Victu­allers houses and what bread you shall find there of the Bakers bread of seuerall sorts, to bring the same with you, with the names of the Bakers that made the same, that triall may bee made of the true Assises thereof: And that you yourselfe doe make your attendance at the time and place aforesaid, and doe in due manner make full returne of this Precept in due time, as you will answere the contrarie at your perill.
