And that in such parts and places, and before such ordinarie Iudges and Officers vnto whom they have beene formerly accustomed to make their Musters and Weapon-shawing.
OUR WILL IS Herefore, and Wee charge you straitlie, and commaundes, that incontinent these Our Letters seene, You passe, And in Our Name and Authoritie make publication heereof by open proclamation at the Market Crosses of the Head Burrowes of Our Shirefdomes, Stewartries and Baillieries abouewritten, wherethrough none pretend ignorance of the same. And that you command and charge all and sundrie Our Lieges, and Subiects betweene sixtie and sixteene yeeres, and others fensible persons, aswell within Regalitie, as Royaltie, and that they and every one of them, prepare and addresse themselves well and sufficiently armed, to giue their Musters and Weaponshawing everie one of them, within the ordinarie places of the Shirefdomes Stewartries, and Baillieries, where they dwell, vpon the dayes respective abovewritten, vnder the paines mentioned and contained in the former Act and Proclamation made there-anent. And such like to command and charge all and sundrie Our Shirefes, Stewartes, and Baillies aswell to Regalitie as Royaltie, Provests and Bailies of Burrowes: That they and everie one of them, within their owne bounds, office and jurisdiction, attend and awaite vpon the said weaponshawing and to doe, and performe that which to their charge and office appertaines, and that they and every one of them, make a perfite record, and note in writte vnder their hands of the whole persons that comes to the said weaponshawing, and [...] forme and manner of their Armour, and deliver the same vnder their hands the said Colonell BRUCE, To the intent hee may exhibite the same to Our said Counsell of warre, to the effect above written. As they will answere vpon the dutifull discharge of their office at their heighest charge and perill. And sick-like that you command and charge all and sundry Noble-men, Barrons, and Gentlemen within the bounds particularlie abovewritten, to give vp to Our said Shirefes, Stewarts and Baillies the names of the whole persons that accompanies them to the said Musters and weaponshawing with the names of all others vnder them, who by the Law are subiect to giue their Musters and weaponshawing thereat without concealing of any one of their names. Together also with the names of the Paroshins where they dwell, as they and everie one of them will answere vpon the contrarie at their highest charge and perill. As also that you command and charge all Our said Shirefes, Stewarts, Baylies of Royalties and Regalities, and their Deputs that they and every one of them; have a speciall care, that none of their Clerks, nor no others under them entrusted with the inrolling of the persons conveening to the said Weaponshawings, vse any extortion, nor exact any duetie, or fee, from any person or persons whatsomever for receiving and inrolling of their names. As Our said Shirefes, Stewarts, Baylies, their Deputes and Clerks will answere vpon the contrary at their highest perill: and vnder the paine to bee called, persewed and punished for extortion of Our subiects with all rigour. The which to doe, Wee commit to you coniunctly and severally, Our full Power, by [...] Our Letters, Delivering the same by you duely execute and indorsed againe to the Bearer.
